I always thougt that Dutch people were so well educated !
F A C T S !

Iceland is an indipendent country since 1944 !

Danmark still rules Faroe island and Greenland !

Icelandic is the best keept language of the ancient viking language
of scandinavia.

I don't know if Dutch people commonly are well-educated. I am, but not in politics or whatsoever. I am an educated IT-professional, which has nothing in common with politics, geology, economics, or history Therefore I asked about this.
And well… it might be a fact, that since I am living in Denmark, I am involved with the Danish way-of-life; Danes want to rule the world, if they can't reach their goal, they THINK they reach their goal. Therefore, many Danes do think of Iceland to be theirs.

Well… a bit different… The Dutch believe they rule the world, but they know actually they don't. That is the difference with the Danes.
